Information regarding inquiries, request for proposal, and orders for Golberg Restoration Co. services.
We receive restoration orders from all corners of the world. We offer free examinations in our studio as well as travel services in Southern California; otherwise, we will take care of your damaged object(s) via post no matter where you live!
If you are interested in our services, you will need to receive a "Proposal For Restoration" (a.k.a. Estimate for Restoration) from us. There are three ways you can can contact us for that purpose.

After free examination, we will provide you with a free oral estimate. At that time you will have a choice of either having us restore the item or ship it back to you at your cost.
You can e-mail, mail or fax us a picture and the detailed description of the item. We will be able to provide you with approximate estimate based on the picture(s) and description provided by you. If this approximate estimate is acceptable to you, you will need to ship us the item. At that time we will perform free examination and provide you with binding estimate (which may be higher or lower then the estimate originally provided).
You can provide us with the detailed description of the item and the damages via e-mail, mail or fax. We will be able to provide you with approximate estimate. This estimate will be the least precise estimate we can provide, but it will give you an idea of how much the work will cost. After shipping the item to us, we will perform free examination and provide you with binding estimate (which may be significantly higher or lower then the estimate originally provided).
Please note our estimates do not include the cost of shipping and insurance.
Customer pays for shipping and insurance (if any) charges.
Deposit of 50% from the estimated cost of restoration is required prior to the start of restoration work, with the balance due upon the completion of the project.
The estimate price is good for thirty days.
The expected turnaround time of restoration work varies, and will be provided with the estimate.
When shipping, we strongly advise that you purchase insurance covering the value of the item(s) from the shipping company.
Terms and Conditions:
GOLBERG RESTORATION CO. acknowledges receiving from Owner or Owner's agent the objects described on the front of this invoice. Owner requests that Golberg Restoration Co. provide the conservation/restoration services outlined in paragraph 2.
Unless specifically indicated on the front of this invoice, no separate proposal will be written for the Owner. The work will be done as indicated on this invoice, unless specifically stated otherwise on a separate proposal, if any.
It is GOLBERG RESTORATION CO.’s policy that before any work is to commence, the deposit of 50% from the TOTAL indicated on the front of this invoice, is to be made. The balance
will be due upon completion of conservation/restoration work. The deposit requirement may only be waived in writing by the authorized employees of GOLBERG RESTORATION CO.
a) Owner and Golberg Restoration Co. understand and acknowledge the inherent risks and sensitive nature of the work involved. The success, effectiveness, or results of any conservation service can not be guaranteed. Because of the uniqueness of the object
and conservation/restoration services under consideration, no work on the
object can be undertaken unless the Owner understands and agrees to release and hold harmless GOLBERG RESTORATION CO. for any loss or damage except that caused by gross negligence.
b) Owner agrees that, at its sole discretion, GOLBERG RESTORATION CO. may halt or modify the treatment set out in the Proposal. In the event that GOLBERG RESTORATION CO., at its
sole discretion, determines that a modified treatment will require more time or incur more costs, GOLBERG RESTORATION CO. will provide the Owner with a new invoice/proposal. Golberg Restoration Co. will answer any questions Owner may have concerning the new proposal.
a) Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, Owner shall be responsible for all costs of shipping the object to and from GOLBERG RESTORATION CO. All risks of loss, damage and/or injury to the object in connection therewith shall be borne solely by the Owner.
b) If the shipping is done by GOLBERG RESTORATION CO's. truck, Owner will bear no liability for damage occurred during shipping.
c) GOLBERG RESTORATION CO. will not release the object to Owner until the payment in full is received.
6. DOCUMENTATION OF TREATMENT.
Owner agrees to in writing, by signing the other side of this invoice, that GOLBERG
RESTORATION CO. owns and may use and publish, at its own discretion, all photographs, drawings, and written documents made in the performance of the restoration/conservation services for scientific, educational, commercial and any other purpose, without any further consent of the Owner.
7. STATEMENT PERTAINING TO VALUE.
Any statements or opinions, written or oral, given by GOLBERG RESTORATION CO. having a bearing upon age, value, style, authenticity or authority, market value, etc. of the Object are made solely for the purpose of explaining treatment and may not be used or relied upon for any other purposes whatsoever. We recommend that such statement(s) be obtained from a licensed appraiserfor any use other that described in this paragraph.
8. WAIVER OR BREACH.
The waiver of any breach of this Agreement by either party shall not constitute a continuing waiver or waiver of any subsequent breach of the same or any other provision of this Agreement.
a) It is a policy of GOLBERG RESTORATION CO. that a deposit of 50% from the total on the front side of this invoice be made prior to start of restoration work.
b) No work will be done until such deposit is received and cleared through a financial institution, if applicable.
c) The balance is due upon completion of restoration work.
d) After the restoration/conservation work is completed and the Owner is notified of such completion, the Owner must pick-up the Object within 10 days, or make pick-up/delivery arrangements.
e) In the event that Owner does not pick-up the item or does not make such arrangements, GOLBERG RESTORATION CO has a right to:
i) take legal actions against the Owner.
ii) charge reasonable storage fees on a daily basis, beginning with 90 days after the notification was made.
iii) sell the Object at any price to recover the moneys owed to GOLBERG RESTORATION CO. by the owner.
10. GOVERNING LAW.
This Agreement shall be construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State
of California. Except as provided herein, this Agreement contains the entire understanding between the parties with respect to restoration/conservation services and supersedes all prior agreements, either oral or written.
